We have several gifted actors who are experienced at playing the role of George M. Cohan. And would be delighted to bring Cohan to life on your stage, if you'd like us to arrange that. The multi-talented Justin Boccitto is certainly no stranger to the world of Cohan; for the past decade he's choreographed most of Chip Deffaa's shows, including most of the Cohan shows! He knows Cohan's magic, inside and out.
And Boccitto will be starring in a special free presentation of "George M. CohanTonight!," directed by Chip Deffaa, 7 p.m., Thursday, August 26th, at the YM-YWHA of North Jersey, One Pike Drive, Wayne, New Jersey 07470, (973) 595-0100.
Justin Boccitto is a graduate of Broadway’s Circle in the Square Theatre School. As a performer he went on to appear with the Metropolitan Opera, the Willow Cabin Theatre Company and the New York Theatre Ballet. Other performance credits include: "Oliver" at Papermill Playhouse starring George S. Irving, "A Salute to ChitaRivera" featuring Bebe Neuwirth, Elaine Strich & Liza Minnelli and "Broadway To Brunswick" with Marvin Hamlish and Rachel York.
Justin recently directed the national tour of "Dance/Speak: The Life of Agnes deMille" with the New York Theatre Ballet and "The World Goes 'Round" at Circle in the Square.
He has worked with Chip Deffaa on six musicals including "OneNight With Fanny Brice" and "The Seven Little Foys." He has choreographed the original productions of Deffaa's "George M. Cohan: In His Own Words," "The George M. Cohan Revue," and "George M. Cohan & Co." He does all of his own choreography when he performs in "George M. Cohan Tonight!" (He figures that, in Deffaa's various shows over the years, he has choreographed more Cohan numbers than any living choreographer.)
